Install the charging stations

Jean-Nicolas Turlier Updated by Jean-Nicolas Turlier

This article describes the on-site installation of Electric vehicle charging stations. For this equipment to function, a configuration on the Climkit Platform is also required. Links are available at the end of the document.

1. Preparing the charging station

Climkit provides a 22 kW charging station, depending on availability, either the ABB Terra AC or the Hager Witty Pro.

To ensure the station connects immediately to the Climkit Platform, it is delivered preconfigured with:

  • Connection mode (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)
  • Preconfigured SSID and password
  • Climkit Gateway IP address
Each ABB Terra AC station is delivered with a unique PIN code found inside the box.
Be careful not to lose it: it is essential for the station configuration.

Always refer to the station manufacturer's instructions.

2. Installation

  1. Install and connect the station according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Connect the power supply via a circuit breaker (requires an electrical Installer): a 3P+N Type A RCD circuit breaker for the ABB Terra AC, a standard circuit breaker for the Hager Witty Pro, which has integrated 30 mA differential protection. Type B or EV circuit breakers are not required.
  3. The 22 kW stations can be connected at 32 A, 25 A, 16 A, or 10 A. In practice, 16 A is sufficient for most vehicles.
  4. The station is connected to the IT network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi; if it is to be connected to the IP network via cable, connect the station's RJ45 port to the router.

The station can be installed on a single or double metal pedestal (two stations back-to-back). The pedestal is specific to the station Model.

It is recommended to verify the installation, see Verifying EV charging stations from the platform.
