Installing charging stations

This article describes the on-site installation of electric vehicle charging stations. For these devices to function, configuration on the Climkit platform is also required. Links are available at the end of the document.

1. Charging Station Preparation

Climkit supplies the ABB Terra AC 22kW charging station.

To ensure immediate connection to the Climkit platform, the charging station is delivered pre-configured, including:

  • Connection mode (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)
  • Preconfigured SSID and password
  • Climkit Gateway IP address
Each ABB Terra AC charging station comes with a unique PIN code found in the box. Be careful not to lose it, as it is essential for configuring the charging station.

Always refer to the charging station manufacturer's instructions.

2. Installation

  1. Install and connect the charging station according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Connect the power supply via a Type A 3P+N RCD circuit breaker (electrical installer). Type B or EV circuit breakers are not required.
  3. ABB Terra AC 22 kW charging stations can be connected at 32A, 25A, 16A, or 10A. In practice, 16A is sufficient for the majority of vehicles.
  4. The charging station is connected to the IT network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi; if a wired IP network connection is planned, connect the charging station's RJ45 port to the router.

The charging station can be installed on a single or double metal pedestal (two stations back-to-back).
