Install the charging stations

Jean-Nicolas Turlier Updated by Jean-Nicolas Turlier

This article describes the on-site installation of Electric vehicle charging stations. For this equipment to function, a configuration on the Climkit platform is also required. Links are available at the end of the document.

1. Preparation of the station

Climkit provides the ABB Terra AC 22kW charging station.

To ensure the station connects immediately to the Climkit platform, it is delivered preconfigured, including:

  • Connection mode (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)
  • Preconfigured SSID and password
  • Climkit Gateway IP address
Each ABB Terra AC station is delivered with a unique PIN code found in the box. Be careful not to lose it, as it is essential for the configuration of the station.

Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the charging stations.

2. Installation

  1. Install and connect the station according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Connect the power supply via a 3P+N Type A RCD circuit breaker (electrical installer). Type B or EV circuit breakers are not necessary.
  3. ABB Terra AC 22 kW stations can be connected at 32A, 25A, 16A, or 10A. In practice, 16A is sufficient for the majority of vehicles.
  4. The station is connected to the IT network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi; if it is planned to connect to the IP network via wire, connect the station's RJ45 port to the router.

The station can be installed on a single or double metal pedestal (two stations back-to-back).
