Adding charging stations

This article describes the configuration of charging stations on the Climkit platform.

For connection planning, or for installing the device on site, refer to the links at the end of the article.

Registration of electric vehicle charging stations

1. Configuration of distribution zones

Charging stations must belong to a distribution zone.

In general, a zone is limited by a 63A circuit breaker to which one or more stations are connected.

It is possible to create one or more zones depending on the parking configuration.

Under Equipment > Charging stations > Distribution zones, create a zone by clicking the (+) button. Fill in the following fields:

  • Name: Location of the zone, for example 1st basement or outdoor parking.
  • Gateway: Select the Gateway to which the charging stations will be connected
  • Max Current: Amperage limit (A) of the zone's starting circuit breaker.
  • Max current fail-safe: Limit to apply to the zone when the dynamic management meter cannot be read: in most cases, a current of 16 A is admissible.
  • DLM meters (Dynamic Load Management): Meters whose instantaneous power must be continuously monitored to prevent overloads and circuit breaker tripping. Generally, the input meter is selected. Sometimes, the common areas meter is also selected if the zone is powered via the common areas.
It is imperative to enter the nominal current in amperes (Max Current) for these meters.
  • Consumption meter: the consumption meter measures the consumption of the zone and its stations. In general, this is the meter installed right after the zone circuit breaker.
  • Dedicated meter: check if the meter only measures the consumption of the zone and its stations.

2. Configuration of the nominal current of DLM meters

It is necessary to correctly define the amperage of the DLM meter(s) in the meter settings under Meters > Max Current (A).

3. Adding charging stations

Under Charging stations, add a station by clicking the (+) button.

Enter the serial number of the station found on the device and its packaging (e.g. TACW1142021G1XYZ).

Then fill in the following fields:

  • Location: parking space number or info that allows it to be located in the parking lot
  • Linked Gateway: select the Climkit Gateway to which the stations are connected.
  • Max Current (A): Amperage limit (A) of the station's residual current circuit breaker. Generally between 16 A and 32 A.
  • Min Current (A): Minimum current at which the vehicle can charge. Generally between 6 A and 10 A. By default, set to 10 A.
  • Distribution zone: select the distribution zone to which the station is connected
  • Authentication: check if the station is not self-service, i.e., only activatable via RFID badge to identify users.
For stations not connected to a gateway such as Easee stations, see Adding an OCPP Remote charging station
