Billing rates

Everything measured by meters can be invoiced.

Other fixed fees such as management fees can also be invoiced.

Tariffs are defined during the administrative setup and can subsequently be modified via the online portal.

1. Electrical energy

Electrical energy is measured in kWh.

It is invoiced for electricity meters, electric vehicle charging stations, laundry managers, etc.

A different tariff is applied depending on the energy source (solar or grid) and the time of day or day of the week it is consumed.

In the context of RCP in rental buildings, the tariff is regulated. See Tariffing under the RCP.

We thus have the following different electrical energy tariffs:

Electrical energy from the grid

  • Single grid tariff: single tariff for the entire day (24/7)
  • Double grid tariff: High tariff (also called Peak Hours - HP) and low tariff (also called Off-Peak Hours - HC).

The choice between single or double tariff is generally defined by the supply method of the local Distribution system operator (DSO).

The latter also defines the peak and off-peak tariff hours. Generally, the tariff is low during the night, as well as all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Solar electrical energy (from the photovoltaic installation)

  • Single solar tariff: single tariff for the entire day (24/7)
  • Double solar tariff: High tariff (also called Peak Hours) and low tariff (also called Off-Peak Hours).

Power fees

In some cases, the grid operator invoices power fees (in kW).

These fees correspond to the maximum power peak consumed during a month or a year.

It is defined by the maximum amount of energy (kWh) consumed during 15 minutes multiplied by 4.

By entering a power tariff in the portal, these power fees are distributed among the site users proportionally to their own power peak and appear on their bill or individual statement.

Surcharge for certain solutions

In the case of Mobility solutions (charging stations), Washaccess (laundry manager) and EBike (electric bicycle charging), the owner can define a surcharged kWh rate to cover both electricity costs and the costs of providing and depreciating the equipment.

For example, it is recommended to charge a rate of CHF 1.00 to CHF 1.50 per kWh for the use of laundries and electric bicycle charging.

2. Other fixed fees

Fixed fees are invoiced regardless of consumption.

These mainly concern the following items:

  • Climkit management fees according to the solutions in place
  • DSO meter subscription shared among consumers
  • Rental or provision of a charging station by the owner. Recommended price: CHF 30 to 40 per month.

The owner or manager is free to charge these to the residents or not. If so, these items appear separately on the statements or invoices sent to the residents.

3. Thermal energy and water

Generally, thermal energy (heating) and water are not invoiced directly, but the related expenses are simply distributed proportionally to individual consumption (see Expense statements below).

Nevertheless, it is possible in some cases to invoice this type of consumption with a tariff per kWh for thermal and per m³ for water (thermal contracting, camping, etc.)

Climkit does not collect advance payments.
