2. Operation
The system consists of a combination of a RFID reader and one or more relay counters that allow measurement of the energy consumed while engaging or disengaging a charge via a connected electrical outlet.
- The reader with a numeric keypad allows the user to select an outlet to engage.
- A user identifies themselves with a badge at the RFID reader and selects the number of the outlet to engage.
- If the badge is valid and the entered outlet number exists, the corresponding relay closes, allowing the outlet to be engaged.
- The transaction is then initiated, and the counter is automatically recorded.
- The user can complete the transaction by badging again and entering the outlet number.
At this point, the counter is recorded once again, and the energy consumed during the transaction is registered to the user's account.
