2. Operation
The system consists of a combination of an RFID reader and one or more relay meters that measure energy consumption while activating or deactivating a load via a connected power outlet.
- The reader with numeric keypad allows the user to select an outlet to activate.
- A user identifies themselves with a badge at the RFID reader and selects the number of the outlet to activate.
- If the badge is valid and the entered outlet number exists, the corresponding relay closes, allowing the outlet to be activated.
- The transaction is then initiated and the meter is automatically read.
- The user can complete the transaction by scanning again and entering the outlet number.
At this point, the meter is read again and the energy consumed during the transaction is recorded to the user's account.
